PARTNERS
About the Core Partners:
Stony Brook University (SBU), Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) and EPRI have a long history of collaborating on grid-related initiatives and their respective resources complement one another to support the NY-REGRIDD.
SBU is home to several state and federally funded centers focused on energy, which provides a strong foundation for building and supporting the NY-REGRIDD mission. In 2023, SBU became the anchor institution of the New York Climate Exchange (NYCE) and is a founding member and host for the National Offshore Wind Research and Development Consortium (NOWRDC) and the Offshore Wind Training Institute (OWTI). BNL promotes a net-zero carbon economy through clean energy, AI/ML and climate research, and workforce development initiatives. They have expertise in developing new methods and technologies to enable the next-generation smart grid, including integrating energy storage solutions for better renewable penetration. EPRI operates several world-class laboratories that support a broad spectrum of R&D in the energy sector. These laboratories are equipped for materials testing, cybersecurity, electric vehicle charging, welding, and high-voltage testing.
