KEY TECHNOLOGY AREAS

Renewable electric grid resiliency key technology challenges include 1) the intermittency of renewable electricity generation as the supply approaches 100% renewables, 2) the increased cyber vulnerability of the grid, 3) the vulnerability of the coastal northeast to extreme weather, and 4) the need for higher capacity transmission and distribution. NY-REGRIDD will provide solutions to these challenges through rapid and strategic innovation. At the same time, NY-REGRIDD is designed to address the economic, workforce, community and DEIA challenges of reaching a 100% renewable grid.
